Founded 2020

Born to solve the chaos of education management

In 2020, our founders worked with a growing network of schools across East Africa. Each school had its own spreadsheet for fees, its own register for attendance, its own manual process for payroll. Communication was happening via WhatsApp groups. Exam results were compiled by hand.

The tools that existed were either prohibitively expensive enterprise software designed for Fortune 500 companies, or shallow "school management apps" that barely scratched the surface of what a real institution needs. Neither was acceptable.

So we built SchoolSyntaxERP — a genuine enterprise-grade platform designed from the ground up for educational institutions of every size, with true multi-tenancy so one platform could serve an entire network of schools. Today, we're proud to serve over 500 institutions and more than two million students worldwide.

Collins founded SchoolSyntaxERP in 2020 after witnessing first-hand how schools across East Africa were struggling with manual processes, disconnected spreadsheets, and unaffordable enterprise tools that were never built for their reality.

His vision was clear: build a genuinely enterprise-grade platform from the ground up — one that any institution on the continent could afford, deploy, and grow with. Today, SchoolSyntaxERP serves 500+ institutions across 14 countries, managing over 2 million students.

Five years of building and growing

2020 — Founded

The Beginning

SchoolSyntaxERP was incorporated. First MVP launched with Academics and Finance modules. First 3 institutions onboarded. Pre-seed funding of $450K raised.

2021 — Product Market Fit

Rapid Expansion

Reached 50 institutions. Launched HR & Payroll, Admissions, and Attendance modules. Multi-tenancy architecture overhauled for true isolation. Seed round of $2.1M closed.

2022 — Enterprise Grade

Going Enterprise

Platform Admin module launched. Custom domain support. First enterprise contract with a 12-school network. 200 institutions milestone reached. Series A: $8.5M.

2023 — Scale

International Growth

Expanded to 14 countries. Communication module launched with SMS/Email automation. ID Card module released. 500,000 students milestone. ISO 27001 certification process initiated.

2024 — Maturity

Platform Maturity

Reached 500+ institutions and 2M+ students. Advanced Analytics launched. Government education network partnerships signed. Series B: $22M. Team expanded to 38.

2026 — The Future

AI-Powered ERP

AI-assisted grading, predictive enrollment analytics, and intelligent financial forecasting on the roadmap. Targeting 1,500 institutions and 5M students by end of 2026.
